If we can get the boards back up again, we may not lose that much.
In a moment of madness and non-IT like thinking...I actually backed up the boards at about 4:15pm on Tuesday afternoon, so worse case is we lose anything between then and when the boards crashed. |

| I'm not saying too much as we're never likely to be able to prove anything, but it's not an error that you're likely to see unless someone who knew what they were doing did it on purpose. I think J is right personally...but then what do I know. |

Any website can be attacked if you know what your doing and experianced in the field.
Ady, can any steps be taken so that this type of attack can be negated in the future? _________________ --James Bloodworth

It's all open to debate at the moment, but there is a known bug in the version of php that we're using apparently, which can be exploited to do just this sort of damage if you know what you're doing.
John was talking about moving the hosting of the website so we can upgrade at that point as well, so hopefully that will happen soon.
Alternatively, he was also talking about leaving the boards down to let everyone remember what a real life was all about and stop bloody arguing |

My own board got hacked because of a known phpbb exploit - just makes you wonder what sort of people do this stuff? _________________ Dr. Cliff Hobbs

Have I missed anything exciting??

Not much, the usuall arguments, in fighting, conspiracy theories, Alien abduction...the usuall threads, " Is Marmite superior to Peanut Butter? " " Are Jam Dohnuts better than Iced ring dohnuts? " " Is Galaxy better than Cadbury? " and perhaps the ultimate question..." Is Tuna really the food of Gods ?"
And of course there's the odd claim of " You bent my Wookie " _________________ Chris Cooper (TS7920) |

heh heh heh
Well IMHO:
Marmite
Jam Dohnuts
Galaxy (by far the superior chocolate... except Lind of course - your talking to a girl... you didn't expect me to ignore a 'chocolate' question did you!?!
Hmmm, jury's still out on the last one - I do enjoy a tin or two, but it's never been the same since I competed in Miss York a few years back and ate about 3 flipping tins of it a day, breakfast, lunch and tea!!
And I can honestly say, hand on heart, I have never been accused of bending someone's wookie |
