Just a suggestion but as you dont need to register to read the posts here and there seems to be rather alot of debate about the UKG / 501st and other internal matters plus some rather choice language - shouldnt it be made members only?

I know Lee's board isnt openly advertised but we wouldnt want everyone reading all this would we?

Good job on getting somewhere for us to stay in contact in an emergency though Lee Smile

Good point Todd. This site was advertised on the RPB as a place for all UKG refugees to hang out. Anybody reading that could potentially sign up to this board.

Didnt know it had been advertised Chris, all the more reason to make it private then.

Thing is you can access all areas and read everything as a guest, you dont need to register to be able to.

Just had a look and noticed 4 members and 4 guests!

Going OT for a moment. How did you manage to get such a large avatar?? I had to resize mine to less than 6kb and 80 x 80 pixels before it would let me submit it

Chris,

The measured size of a picture doesnt always mean the file size is big. You can optimise the image by lowering resolution, colours used, quality etc.. thus lowering the file size and still have a large size image.

Yeah I know mate Smile

First of my file was too big (32kb) - has to be under 6kb so i got it down to 5.5kb by lowering the res. Tried uploading it and got the message that it had to be smaller than 80 x80 pixels!!

Good point mate.

Note to EVERYONE

Please be aware of this. Also please note that I hope that everyone signing up and registering here realises:

a) This is only a temporary board for the UKG

b) Is not covered by UKG rules and regulations although I'd hope we'd use our common sense and adopt them anyway

Apologies Lee if I'm overstepping the mark - just feel it needs to be said Wink

Why ? As long as we dont talk about where to get copyright infringing material etc.

I have nothing to hide and anything I say, anyone is quite welcome to read if they want to use their time dong so.

One of the things that got us into this mess was false information being passed around so anything that can stop or reduce that happening, like being more open, is a good thing.

I dont believe in pussyfooting around, debate is a positive thing and so is having differing opinions. I have mine and I respect others right to theirs. They may be wronger than a wrong thing but they are allowed to be wrong arent they Laughing

I also know that its is possible to have debates on forums, sometimes very heated ones without it degenerating into nastyness as Ive seen and taken part in them. All it takes is a modicum of respect for everyone taking part. That and not just typing away and hitting post without really thinking about it.

So come one come all.

I totally agree mate but I didnt think it was a good idea that discussions on internal UKG matters could be viewed by just anyone coming here to Lee's forum from whatever source. We know we have a lot to discuss and youre dead right about being open but I think some of the talk could have created a very bad impression of us.

I see Lee has prevented guests from viewing all areas now and has possibly done something to stop non UKG members from registering and seeing the more sensitive posts - top man.

Cheers

Todd
